Saumya Amarasekera, Attorney-at-Law, brings over 35 years of experience in legal practice, specializing in Civil Law. Her expertise encompasses Property Law, Family Law, Testamentary Law, Trust Law, and Condominium Law, with a notable practice in handling litigation for finance companies and banks, particularly in money recovery cases. She is also well-versed in both local and international arbitration as a Counsel and Arbitrator.

Saumya earned her Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on Insurance Law and Defamation and Privacy. In 2018, she was appointed President’s Counsel, a testament to her distinguished career.

Her previous roles include serving as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairperson of Sampath Bank PLC until June 2020. Currently, she chairs the Advisory Committee appointed by the Ministry of Justice for reviewing the Registration of Title Act and holds positions as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the boards of WindForce PLC, Hayleys Fibre PLC, Hayleys Fabric PLC, and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC.
