Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena , the Secretary of the Ministry of Power & Energy, brings over 23 years of distinguished experience in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service. With a remarkable background in managing significant government projects, particularly in the power sector. His extensive experience in the power and energy sector spans over two decades, with significant contributions to renewable energy development, energy efficiency improvement, rural electrification and policy formulation.

Dr. Jayawardena is well-versed in project management and customer relations. He has honed his skill and augmented his experience across various sectors including power, human resources, development and administration, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity and dedication.

Dr. Jayawardena holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree, a Master’s in Business Studies from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura and a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Additionally, he has earned diplomas in Medical Laboratory Technology, Information Technology and Professional Diplomacy and World Affairs.
